El artículo analiza el valor del periodismo de inmersión a través del estudio comparativo de dos filmes: 10 Days in a Madhouse y Gentleman's Agreement. Se examina cómo el cine representa y reinventa técnicas periodísticas como la infiltración encubierta, la observación prolongada y la narrativa en primera persona. La investigación aplica un enfoque cualitativo basado en el marco teórico de López Hidalgo y Fernández Barrero, con énfasis en la dimensión ética, social y estilística del periodismo de inmersión. Ambos casos fílmicos muestran cómo la implicación directa del periodista transforma tanto la narrativa como la conciencia social, revelando injusticias estructurales desde una experiencia vivida. El estudio destaca la potencia del cine como vehículo de denuncia y reflexión sobre los métodos periodísticos comprometidos.
This article explores the representation of immersive journalism in the films 10 Days in a Madhouse and Gentleman's Agreement, through a qualitative approach grounded in the theoretical framework of López Hidalgo and Fernández Barrero. Using narrative, thematic, and comparative analysis, the study identifies techniques such as undercover infiltration, prolonged observation, and first-person storytelling, which enable journalists to immerse themselves in the realities they investigate. The research highlights how cinema not only reproduces but also reinterprets these techniques through audiovisual resources that enhance their ethical and social dimensions. Both films illustrate the potential of immersive journalism to expose systemic injustices from a subjective and engaged perspective. The findings underscore cinema's capacity to serve as a powerful medium for social awareness and critical reflection on contemporary journalistic practices.
